Background:

On May 13, 2020, the State of Florida E911 Board approved a special disbursement in an amount of $12,000 per 9-1-1 center in each County. Alachua County has two (2) 9-1-1 centers, a primary and a backup for a total additional revenue of $24,000.00. The monies may be used to defray the additional expenditures in 9-1-1 centers associated with COVID-19 such as contracted cleaning.

The CCC has incurred additional cleaning and sanitizing costs related to the COVID-19 pandemic.  The resolution and budget amendment will recognize the unanticipated revenue and appropriate the funds to reimburse the CCC for some of the additional costs.
