Background:
On July 12, 1983, the Alachua County Board of County Commissioners adopted the Alachua County Veteran Services Advisory Board (VSAB). The VSAB consists of 10 Representatives of Organizations, 2 Veterans of specific eras and 4 Citizens who are Veterans and one Alternate Veteran for 17 board members.
The VSAB Veteran Services Advisory Board has effectively served the Veteran community in Alachua County since its inception more than 30 years ago. The VSAB provides information, awareness of, and concerns to the BoCC on issues and services that are important to those who have served in the military and their families.
