Approve the issuance of Purchase Order 2021-991 to Nextran Truck Center-Lake City, in the amount of $127,261.00, for the replacement of one (1) 2021 Mack 52,000lb, GVWR Cab & Chassis 4x6 Tandem Axle Truck for Solid Waste, Transfer Station Hauling.  Prices, terms and conditions are per Florida Sheriffs Association, Florida Association of Counties & Florida Fire Chiefs Association, Contract #FSA 20 - VEH 18.0. Item #69.

Background:

Purchase Order 2021-991 is for the replacement of WM 1703, a 2017 Mack semi-tractor that was in a vehicle accident. WM1703 was deemed a total loss due to repair costs at its current value.

This purchase is exempt from the County's competitive bidding requirements pursuant to Section 22.3-302(12) of the Alachua County Procurement Code, Procurement of Supplies or Services under Contract with federal, state, or municipal governments or any other governmental agency or political subdivision provided the vendor extends the same terms and conditions of the Contract to the County.  However, since the dollar amount of the purchase exceeds the purchasing authority of the Procurement Manager, this Purchase Order is being submitted for Board consideration and approval.
