Prior Board Motions:

At the July 9, 2019 regular meeting, the BOCC made a motion to authorize a Chair Letter to the City of Gainesville informing of the Board’s actions and what the County is doing including the budgeted amount and solicit their interest in partnering with the County from the City and any other interested parties as well. The letter should be brought to the Board for review prior to transmittal.

Background:

On March 22, 2019, the County Manager entered into a Legal Representation Agreement with the firm of de la Parte & Gilbert regarding the proposed HPSII phosphate mine in Union/Bradford Counties.

On July 9, 2019 the Alachua County Board of County Commissioners approved the 1st Amendment to Legal Representation with the firm and approved a Budget Amendment to implement Task 1 and Task 2 only of the Agreement, for an amount not to exceed $621,302.00.
