Background:
At the July 10 Board meeting, the Commission discussed establishing criteria to display art in the Jack Durrance Auditorium.
The Arts Council of Alachua County reviewed the artists’ work submitted by Eboni Browning, Robert Dornberg, Mary Reichardt, Joyce Hinkle, and Karen Thomas at their July 1 meeting, to ensure that each piece proposed for approval at today’s meeting meets the Program requirements. The Council unanimously recommended the Commission approve contracts for these applications.
Additional art will be reviewed at their August meeting and will be placed on an upcoming agenda for Commission approval.
The art will be on display in the Jack Durrance Auditorium for three months. The first group of artists approved at the May Arts Council meeting, and subsequently at the July Commission meeting, are now on display, or are being scheduled for future display.
