Description:
Developer and County working together to enhance the County's ability to perform emergency pumping operations at the "Red Lobster" basin. A drainage easement from Lafayette Properties of Alachua, LLC. to Alachua County as part of the final development plan approval for the construction of an Arby's Restaurant at the 6600 block of West Newberry Road. Developer to install permanent discharge pipe for County's pumping operations. System to be owned and maintained by the County.

Background:
Lafayette Properties of Alachua, LLC filed an application for final development plan approval for the Arby's Restaurant at the 6600 block of West Newberry Road with associated site improvements. The application was approved by the Development Review Committee on December 5, 2018. At the time of development plan approval, the County and Lafayette Properties of Alachua, LLC.determined that it is in the best interest of the citizens of Alachua County for the developer to provide for certain drainage system enhancements such as installation of drainage pipe under the parking lot that would require the granting of the easement in order for Alachua County to maintain the drainage pipe. The easement will contain a pipe that enhances the publicly owned and maintained drainage system for that area.
