Background:

The Board has directed staff to amend the ULDC to take into account certain types of proposed development activity that may occur within preservation buffers.  These buffers (which can vary in width from 100 feet to 660 feet based on the resource) are mandated by the Code when adjacent to parcels with a Preservation land use designation.  The proposed language takes into account that certain development activity may have occurred prior to the buffer being put in place and, further, that certain types of new development activity (taken on a case-by-case basis) may have minimal impacts to identified resources.
