Background:
The Local Planning Agency is responsible for preparation of the Comprehensive Plan; reviewing and making recommendations on comprehensive plan amendments, rezonings, special use permits, and special exceptions, and on land development regulations upon the request of the Board of County Commissioners. There are seven at-large members serving 4-year terms and one member appointed by the Alachua County School Board for a total of eight members.
