Background:

Alachua County issued an Invitation to Bid#20-18 for Annual Heavy Equipment HVAC Basic Coverage Services.  Siemens Industry, Inc. was the lowest, responsive bidder.

This agreement was fashioned after a previous agreement we had with Johnson Controls, Inc. for similar services.  During the bid process we addressed the expected increase to Government Minimum Wage as well as a requirement of the vendor to assist the County in formalizing a QA and QC program ensuring maintenance services are performed in a timely manner and to manufacturer’s specifications.

The General Facilities Department and Critical Facilities Department work together toward reducing the overall costs of our equipment.   It is critical that we ensure that all preventive maintenance is performed, as specified, by certified mechanics.  This contract assists in the management of critical HVAC equipment.
