Description:
The Tower Road Project and Suntrail Grant Projects are complete. There is a bituminous adjustments (the difference between fuel costs when project was bid and date of use) of $2,480.10 on the Suntrail Grant Project and $138.46 on Tower Road Project that remains to process as a change order. Unfortunately, the remaining contingency balance is only $1,408.70 so $1,100 needs to be added to the contingency amount in the Suntrail Portion and $200.00 needs to be added to the Tower Road portion to have enough contingency to cover the shortfall and close the project. The Suntrail portion of the project is funded through a grant so it cannot be transferred to another project without approval of the Florida Department of Transportation.

Approve increasing contingency for the Suntrail Portion of the Tower Road/Suntrail Grant Projects by $1,100 and Tower Road Portion by $200 to make final payments to close the project. There are sufficient funds remaining in the Suntrail Grant Project to cover this increase in account 341.79.7910.541.63.01, Project 9177901 and Tower Road Project to cover increase in account 341.79.7916.541.63.71.

Background:
The scope of the Tower Road Project was to resurface the roadway from SW Archer Rd to SW 8th Ave. The project included the addition of turn lanes at SW 45th Pl, SW 42nd Ave, Tower Rd Library, SW 19th Pl, SW 18th Blvd and SW 13th Rd. Southbound bus turnouts were constructed at the library and Veterans Park. The Suntrail Grant Project funded the construction of a multi-use path on the west side of the roadway from SW 26th Pl to SW 8th Ave and a private developer will construct additional turn lanes for a future development at SW 13th Rd.
