Background:

The County’s Tools for Schools Program is a partnership between Alachua County and the Alachua County School District. Pursuant to the Program, the County collects reusable school supplies and provides them, free of charge, to Alachua County School Teachers so that the teachers can provide them to needed students. In accordance with Resolution 94-34, the Clerk of the Court has declared the collected school supplies as surplus property and they have been donated to the Alachua County School District through properly credentialed Alachua County School Teachers. Pursuant to Resolution 94-34, the Clerk is required to provide a report to the Board regarding the disposal of all surplus property and to ensure that the disposal report is recorded in the minutes of the Board. The disposal report is provides as Exhibit A to the proposed resolution.
