Description:

Request permission to provide a temporary full-time Administrative Assistant position to support the Charter Review Commission.

Approve the 1 year transfer of a position of an Administrative Assistant and approve the budget amendment to move funding to temp services.

Prior Board Motions:

On October 8, 2019, the Charter Review Commission passed a motion to request full-time administrative support, the motion passed 6-5.

Funding for the position ($50,000) has been moved into Special Expense from ITS.

Background:

The Charter Review Commission is currently assigned a Liaison to support the 12 members of the Commission.  The Liaison support role is currently an additional duty for a staff member.  To date, the Liaison role has monopolized the majority of the work day.  At the October 8th BoCC Special Board meeting, the BoCC were supportive of funding the position if the Charter Review made a motion to do so. The funding for the position is being moved from a vacant position in the County, so there is no budget impact to the FY20 budget.
