Recommended Action

Approve the issuance of Purchase Order 2020-838, to Leesburg Concrete Co. Inc., in the amount of $132,900.00, for the purchase of 6 precast concrete restrooms with inground holding tanks and installation.  Prices, terms and conditions per specifications (Piggyback) of Lake County Florida Contract 16-0214 Bid to Provide and Install Pre-Cast Concrete Restrooms.

Prior Board Motions:

January 22, 2019, the BoCC approved funding for the Poe Springs Restroom in the amount of $139,000 from the Wild Spaces Public Places (WSPP) Fund.

With the carryforward of the $139,000 approved in FY19, there are sufficient funds for this purchase order in account:  021.41.4100.572.62.00 WSPP Fund, Project 6194106.

Background:

The existing waterless restroom close to the springs at Poe Springs Park is in need of replacement due to years of usage, undersized tanks, and being underwater when the river has flooded.  The Board approved budget to replace restroom on January 22, 2019.

 

This purchase is exempt from the County's competitive bidding requirements pursuant to Section 22.11(15) of the Alachua County Purchasing Code, which permits the County to purchase supplies, materials, equipment and services under contract with federal, state, or municipal governments or any other governmental agency or political subdivision providing the vendor extends the same terms and conditions of the contract to the county, based on the determination by the purchasing manager of such purchases off these contracts being in the best interest of the county.
