Background:
On July 12, 1983 the Board of County Commissioners adopted Resolution 83-50 to establish the Alachua County Veterans Services Advisory Board.
The Alachua County Veteran Services Advisory Board is composed of representatives from Veteran organizations in Alachua County.
The VSAB primary goals are:
• to make recommendations to the Alachua County Board of County Commissioners in regards to Veteran Related issues and topics; and
• to serve as a conduit of communication between the vast veteran organizations providing feedback to the about the needs of the Veterans Community; and
• to assist the Alachua County Veteran Services Office in promoting community awareness of services and benefits available to veterans and their families.
