Background:
The Housing Finance Authority (HFA) is a dependent special district authorized under State Statute F.S. 159.604 to issue tax-exempt revenue bonds to finance qualified affordable housing projects in Alachua County. The HFA is a five (5) member board.
Alachua County Ordinance 81-7 authorizes creation of the HFA Board, and amended by Ordinance 99-025 to reflect changes in laws and practices.
The HFA currently has and currently has two (2) vacancies; one in the seat of Citizen at Large, and one in the sear of Citizen at Large knowledgeable in labor, finance, or commerce. Two applicants have applied to serve on the board in the capacity of Citizen at Large, and Citizen at Large, knowledgeable in labor, finance or commerce. Both terms are set to expire August 31, 2023.
Davin Woody has applied to serve in the position of Citizen at Large: Currently, Mr. Woody serves as the HFA Chair in the position of Citizen at Large. He has continuously served on the board since September 1, 2014.
Genile Morris has applied to serve in the position of Citizen at Large (knowledgeable in labor, finance or commerce). Currently, Ms. Morris serves as the HFA Vice-Chair. She has continuously served on the board since fSeptember 1, 2014.
