Background:
Purchase Order 2020-1298 is for the purchase of a 2020 Caterpillar M315F Wheeled Hydraulic Excavator with a rotary mower and Fecon grinding head with a primary purpose of mowing and trimming slopes and ditches inaccessible by traditional mowing equipment. A ditching bucket is also included in the purchase to add versatility to the machine. This purchase was planned as part of the FY20 budget and is the scheduled replacement of RD774.

This purchase is exempt from the County's competitive bidding requirements pursuant to Section 22.11(15) of the Alachua County Purchasing Code, which permits the County to purchase supplies, materials, equipment and services under contract with federal, state, or municipal governments or any other governmental agency or political subdivision providing the vendor extends the same terms and conditions of the contract to the county, based on the determination by the Procurement Manager of such purchases off these contracts being in the best interest...
