Background:
In the early 2000's, the County replaced the carpet throughout the State Attorney's building. The existing carpets on the 2nd & 3rd floors are now well over 14 years old. The carpeting can no longer be successfully cleaned or repaired to County standards. The flooring on the 1st floor was recently replaced and is in good shape. The stair treads are worn and coming apart, making the use of the stairs a safety concern. Currently, the County uses the State of Florida flooring contract with several flooring manufacturers. Using the current University of Florida contract for this project will reduce the overall cost of the project.

This purchase is exempt from the County's competitive bidding requirements pursuant to Section 22.11(15) of the Alachua County Purchasing Code, which permits the County to purchase supplies, materials, equipment and services under contract with federal, state, or municipal governments or any other governmental agency or political subdivision providing the vendor extends the same terms and conditions of the contract to the county, based on the determination by the Procurement Mana...
