Background:

On March 26, 2019, the Board adopted Ordinance 2019-07, creating Chapter 83 (Fireworks Permitting) of the Alachua County Code. This ordinance created requirements for the discharge of fireworks, authorized the County Manager or designee to issue special permits for the discharge of fireworks based upon certain conditions, and specified penalties for violations.

The proposed ordinance amends Section 83.03, lowering the requirement for general comprehensive liability and property damage insurance from $100,000,000.00 to $5,000,000.00.
