Description:

A request by Jay Brown of JBrown Professional Group, Inc., agent, for Fourteenth Street Church of Christ, Inc., owners, for a large scale map amendment to the Alachua County Comprehensive Plan to change the Future Land Use designation from Institutional to Medium High Density Residential (greater than 8, up to 14 units/acre) on approximately 25.64 acres on parcel number 06326-001-000 located at 1404 Fort Clarke Boulevard.  This request is associated with ZOM-12-19, a rezoning on the same parcel from PD (Planned Development) and R-1A (residential, 1 to 4 dwelling units/acre) to R-2a (residential, 8 to 14 dwelling units/acre).

Staff recommends that the Board of County Commissioners adopt CPA-05-19.

Background:

This application is a request to amend the future land use category from Institutional to Medium High Density Residential (greater than 8, up to 14 dwelling units/acre) on approximately 25.64 acres on Fort Clarke Blvd.  the amendment, if approved, would necessitate development as a Traditional Neighborhood Development (TND).  This application is associated with a rezoning application (ZOM-12-19) to rezone the same parcel from PD (Planned Development) and R-1A (residential, 1 to 4 dwelling units/acre) to R-2a (residential, 8 to 14 dwelling units/acre). The Local Planning Agency held a hearing on this item on November 12th, 2019 and recommended that the BoCC transmit, with a vote of 5 yeas, 2 nays.
