Description:

Rural Concerns Advisory Committee appointment to fill one position in the membership category of Active in Agriculture and/or Silviculture.

Appoint DeWayne Baines to the Rural Concerns Advisory Committee in the membership category of Active in Agriculture and/or Silviculture to complete a partial term ending September 30, 2020, and the full three-year term ending September 30, 2023.

Prior Board Motions:

On June 25, 2019, the Board of County Commissioners adopted Resolution 19-66 extending the sunset date of the Rural Concerns Advisory Committee (attached). The sunset date is now December 31, 2025.

Background:

The Resolution establishing the Rural Concerns Advisory Committee states that its responsibilities shall be to establish the importance of our rural, unincorporated agricultural and historic settlements; to assist in the development and evaluation of policies and programs affecting the rural areas of the County; to represent the rural areas in the County’s various community planning processes and hearings; and to assist in the recognition and determination of the needs of the County’s rural residents and advise the Board accordingly.

 

There is one applicant to be considered for an appointment to fill one position in the membership category of Active in Agriculture and/or Silviculture for a partial term ending September 30, 2020, followed by the full three-year term ending September 30, 2023. The applicant is DeWayne Baines. The applicant is currently serving on the Land Conservation Board in the position of Alternate member, which he was appointed to on January 14, 2020.
