Background:
On January 27, 2020, the contract to hire Colin Murphy as the Executive Director of the Children’s Trust of Alachua County was approved, with a starting date of February 3, 2020. Included in Mr. Murphy’s employment agreement was designation to the Senior Management Retirement Classification in the Florida State Retirement System.
Florida Statute 121.055 requires the employing agency to place appropriate notice of intent of such designation in a newspaper of general circulation in the county affected, once a week for two consecutive weeks prior to designation. The notice of intent was published in the Gainesville Sun on February 26, 2020 and March 6, 2020.
