Background:
Attached is the last update to properly allocate ACSO Law Enforcement Cost between the General Fund and the MSTU.
Also attached is the original report developed in 2014.
The study was updated when there was a significant shift in services provided through School Resource Deputies in 2017.
The study was performed with the assistance of the Clerk of the Court's office and the Tax Collector's office with data provided by ACSO.

The General Fund provides base level services provided to every citizen of Alachua County including within municipalities.
The MSTU provides enhanced services (i.e. patrol) for the unincorporated area as well as municipalities that participate.
During the study, we reviewed all ACSO divisions and analyzed how and to whom they provided services. Each Bureau was then allocated into the total pot with a blended rate provided to properly allocate cost.
The blended rate at the bottom of the spreadsheet is the 46% GF / 54% MSTU

The study was performed with the assistance of the Clerk of the Court's office and the Tax Collector's office, and the data was provided by ACSO.

Aviation Unit Budget - This is the County's OMB staff understanding based on conversation with the ACSO staff.
In the FY20 budget, ACSO only requested a budget for half of a mechanic and supplies (see attached), $52,000 plus approx. $15,000 for Jet fuel (not incl.). The other half they receive from the City.
We pay for all of the ACSO pilots and spotters and it Is included in the GF / MSTU split that makes up the 46% GF / 54% MSTU. The City have their own pilot and support that...
