Recommended Action

Approve the issuance of Purchase Order 2020-1750, to Nextran Truck Center-Lake City, in the amount of $65,552.50, for the purchase of one (1) 2020 Hino 19,500 Chassis with Conyers 16’ Van Body and lift gate.  Prices, terms and conditions are per Florida Sheriffs Association, Florida Association of Counties & Florida Fire Chiefs Association, Contract #FSA 19 - VEH 17.0.

Sufficient funds exist in the Vehicle Replacement Fund and Household Hazardous Waste Fund to replace this vehicle in accounts:  506.04.0460.513.64.00 for $17,621.83 and 401.55.5541.537.64.00 for $47,930.67.

Background:

Purchase Order 2020-1750 is for the scheduled replacement of ES034 Household Hazardous Waste and was planned as part of the budget process. 

This purchase is exempt from the County's competitive bidding requirements pursuant to Section 22.3-302(12) of the Alachua County Procurement Code, Procurement of Supplies or Services under Contract with federal, state, or municipal governments or any other governmental agency or political subdivision provided the vendor extends the same terms and conditions of the Contract to the County.  However, since the dollar amount of the purchase exceeds the purchasing authority of the Procurement Manager, this Purchase Order is being submitted for Board consideration and approval.
