Background:
On September 14, 2017, the Board approved funding agreements with the FDOT to fund four projects via two funding sources, the Highway Safety Improvement Program and Safe Routes to School. The Highway Safety Improvement Program projects are as follows:
1. SW 170th St - Lane widen and resurface SW 170th St from Levy County to Archer City Limits programmed to reduce the potential of sideswipe crashes and lane departure crashes. Local funds will be utilized to complete the corridor to SR 45.
2. CR 235 at NW 94th Ave - Place overhead flashing beacon and additional pavement markings to reduce potential of intersection crashes.
3. S Main Street - Place radar speed feedback signs and additional pavement markings to reduce the potential of road departure crashes.
On September 14, 2017, the Board approved funding agreements with the FDOT to fund four projects via two funding sources, the Highway Safety Improvement Program and Safe Routes to School. The Highway Safety Improvement Program projects are as follows:
1. SW 170th St - Lane widen and resurface SW 170th St from Levy County to Archer City Limits programmed to reduce the potential of sideswipe crashes and lane departure crashes. Local funds will be utilized to complete the corridor to SR 45.
2. CR 235 at NW 94th Ave - Place overhead flashing beacon and additional pavement markings to reduce potential of intersection crashes.

The Safe Routes to School project is SW 170th St in Archer to provide additional sidewalks to Archer Elementary School.
The FDOT required the County to deliver the projects via LAP Agreements and a resolution to authorize execution of the agreement was approved. The resolution authorized the County Manager, Public Works Director, or County Engineer to execute any subsequent Agreements or Supplemental Agreements related to the projects.
FDOT is providing full project funding for the projects including reimbursement of staff time. However, the agreements approved on September 14, 2017 were just for the design phase for the CR235 at NW 94th Ave, CR329 (S Main St) at Williston Rd, and SW 170th St - Resurface/Widen. The budget for the construction phase of CR 329 (S. Main Street) at SE Williston Road was approved on November 12, 2019. The budget for the construction phase of CR 235 at NW 94th Avenue Intersection was approved on April 14, 2020. The unanticipated revenue and budget amendment are for the construction phase of SW 170th St - lane widening and resurface project.
SW 170th ST Sidewalk Project has been completed.
SW 170th ST Widening and Resurfacing Project: management of the design phase was funded in original agreement for $32,639. The remaining funding for the construction of the project of $3,916,910 is part of the unanticipated revenues and budget amendment. Additionally, there is $600,000 in local funds to complete the corridor to SR 45. Estimated project total is now $4,549,549.
CR 329 (S. Main ST) at SE Williston Road Intersection Project: construction budget was approved November 12, 2019 and project is in bid phase.
CR235 at NW 94th Ave Intersection Project: construction budget was approved April 14, 2020 and project is in bid phase.
