Description:
This is the initial Assessment Resolution authorizing a public hearing to set rates for Solid Waste Assessments for Fiscal Year 2020-2021 and directing the provision of notice by newspaper and through the Notice of Proposed Taxes (TRIM). Receiving approval will allow the Universal Curbside Collection, Rural Collection Center, and Solid Waste Management program funds to receive approximately $10.8 million in Non-Ad Valorem Assessments.

Adopt Resolution 20-48 and authorize staff to notice the public of the September 08, 2020, Public Hearing to set the rates for Solid Waste Non-Ad Valorem Assessments and authorize provision of the notice to affected property owners on the Notice of Proposed Taxes (TRIM).

Prior Board Motions:
Resolution 2019-115 was approved of on December 10th, 2019, electing to use the uniform method of collecting non-ad valorem assessments for solid waste collection, disposal, recycling, and management.

Approving this request will allow the County to collect approximately $10.8 million in non-ad valorem assessments to fund the Universal Curbside Collection, Rural Collection Center and Solid Waste Management Programs. Estimated revenue is $6.3 million to account 148.76.7600.325.20.00, $1.4 million to account 403.76.7610.325.20.00, and $3.1 million to account 403.76.7620.325.20.00.
