Background:

Poe Springs was privately owned from the mid 1940’s until the late 1980’s. The County acquired the property and made improvements, opening it to the public in 1991.  The existing pump out restroom is almost 30 years old and is ready for replacement.  This approval will allow for increased project costs, as staff’s original estimates were lower than the prices received to complete the project.

To streamline the procurement process, Parks and Open Space is requesting to also move and assign existing budget to the proper expense accounts for the Poe Springs boardwalk improvements and Chestnut park pavilion.  The final approval of these projects will be presented to the Board at a future meeting.
