Prior Board Motions:
Motion on June 23, 2020:
The County Commission moved to have staff bring back recommendations for the formation of a new Board of County Commissioners Advisory Board for addressing racial and gender bias. This Advisory Board would be formed to review new and existing County ordinances, regulations, policies and programs for elements of racial and gender biases, and provide recommendations to the Board of County Commissioners to eliminate such biases. The Advisory Board members will be appointed by the County Commission, with staff support provided by relevant County staff including but not limited to both the County Equity and Community Outreach Coordinator and Equal Opportunity Manager or its successor.
If the resolution is adopted, the County will issue a press release with information on how to apply for vacancies on this new Alachua County Equity Advisory Board.
