Background:

On July 11, 2017 the County approved the installation of a RICE LAKE SURVIVOR® OTD tunnel scale at the Leveda Brown Environmental Park and Transfer Station (RFP 17-671). The other scale at the Transfer Station was installed in 1999 and is in need of replacement. The Solid Waste and Resource Recovery Department wants to replace the existing scale with RICE LAKE SURVIVOR® OTD model so all parts are interchangeable.

Superior Processing & Weighing is the Single authorized distributor of the RICE LAKE SURVIVOR® OTD series scales. This purchase is exempt from the County's competitive bidding requirements pursuant to Section 22.3-302 (27) Single Source procurements in accordance with the Procurement Procedures Manual. However, since the dollar amount of the purchase exceeds the purchasing authority of the Procurement Manager ($50,000), this Purchase Order is being submitted for Board consideration and approval.
