Background:

Alachua County incurred significant costs as the result of a federally declared disaster, COVID 19.  Emergency protective measures conducted before, during, and after an event are eligible under Public Assistance as Category B expenses if the measures eliminate or lesson immediate threats to lives, public health, or safety.    Some examples of eligible activities are emergency operation center costs, supplies and commodities, security, and dissemination of information to the public.  The subgrant agreement will provide the mechanism for both federal and state reimbursement.
