Description:

Provide a flat rate of additional pay to employees who are tasked with enforcing codes pertaining to Covid-19

Fiscal Consideration

$12.50 per hour additional to hourly rate, with a minimum of a 2-hour shift.  The funds are reimbursable through the CARES Act as a part of the County’s cost allocation. The fiscal impact is not known at this time, as details are still being finalized, but there is sufficient CARES Act funding to cover this expense.

Background:

Codes Enforcement Officers and other BoCC staff have been tasked with enforcing the mask ordinance and the capacity for bars ordinance.

 

The payment of the additional hourly rate will be retroactive, but the exact date has not been determined.  The additional hourly rate is only for the time period of a shift in which enforcement activities are being enforced.
