Authorization to advertise a Public Hearing for Board consideration to vacate a portion of the unimproved rights-of-way in the Replat of Tamiami Heights No. 1.

That the Board adopt the proposed resolution to set a date and time to holding a public hearing to consider vacating a portion of the unimproved rights-of-way dedicated to the County by Replat of Tamiami Heights No. 1, and authorizing the County staff to advertise same.

Background:
Alachua County Public Works has received an application from Gloria Bender, Lauren J. Schmidt, Daniel J. Schmidt and Carroll G. Kissam, individually and as trustee, as property owners, to vacate a portion of the unimproved rights-of-way the Replat of Tamiami Heights No. 1, as per plat recorded in Plat Book "A", Page 174 of the public records of Alachua County, Florida.

Public Works has reviewed this request and county staff has determined that the rights-of-way to be vacated consist of only a portion of the rights-of-way within the plat and the rights-of-way to be vacated have not been built or improved and are not being maintained by the County.

County staff is recommending approval of the proposed right-of-way vacations as per Alachua County Code Sec.324. It will not affect the ownership or right of convenient access of persons owning other parts of the subdivision or adjacent properties.
