Background:

This work is necessary in order to accommodate the sheet-flow of stormwater from other areas immediately adjacent to the building. The grading became necessary once plans were modified to accommodate cost.

Doing the work with in-house forces is not currently an options since overtime usage for Road & Bridge is limited to emergencies and callouts.

In February of 2017, the BoCC approved identifying potential sites to purchase property for Millhopper and Hague Fire Stations.  In November of 2017, the BoCC approved staff to begin purchase of facility equipment and staffing for the Hague Fire Station.  Several sites were studied and it was determined that the Phoenix Commercial Park was the most suitable location.  Land was purchased in July of 2019.  February 2020, temporary station was set up with movement of modular building to site.  The last item necessary to lower the ISO rating and protect the fire engine apparatus which is currently parked outside the building unprotected for weather and/or vandalism is to house the engine in an enclosed bay.  This purchase order allows for this to happen in an expedited manner.

Original Purchase Order:                     $116,313.00

Change Order 1:                                          $    8,646.62
