Background:
The 2020 Alachua County Comprehensive Emergency Management Plan is a complete re-write based on updated best practices, the 2017 National Incident Management System (NIMS) document, and additional guidance from the Federal Emergency Management Agency. The CEMP is the product of a deliberate planning process involving multiple meetings with emergency management stakeholders at all levels. It reflects changes to the County’s Emergency Management organizational structure during the coordination of response to all hazards. The content of this document has been validated through the operationalization of the Plan in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
