Description:

The Annual Report provides very brief information on past 2 years and the Work Plan lists the goals of ACHC for next year.  A report on Historic Cemeteries is also included with a brief (perhaps 7 minutes) PowerPoint presentation.

 

Recommended Action:

Recommended Action

Accept the report, and provide staff direction on whether to consider county funding for cemetery maintenance or to continue work on grants. Also provide any comments on other work of Historical Commission

Background:

The mission statement of the County Historical Commission is “To promote, preserve and protect Alachua County’s historic resources.”  The Advisory Board works on projects assigned by BoCC including Truth and Reconciliation, as well as State Historic Markers and discussing all matters related to County history.
