Background:
The Alachua County Veteran Services Advisory Board was established July 12, 1983 with multiple amendments to follow. This board consists of 10 Representatives of Organizations, 2 Veterans of specific era’s and 4 Citizens who are Veterans and 1 Alternate Veteran for a total of 17 board members
The Veteran Services Advisory Board (VSAB) has been providing input and support from the Veterans Community to the Alachua County Board of County Commissioners in regards to issues and services to the Veterans community for over 30 years. This board has an influential role in the Veteran's community and has contributed to the Alachua County community in various roles for over 30 years.
The VSAB also carries out the responsibilities of a Community Veterans Engagement Board in conjunction with the Department of Veterans Affairs.
Appointment of Dan Weisman to the VSAB Board in the position of Operation Iraqi Freedom Operation Enduring Freedom member. Mr, Weisman has never served on the Veteran Services Advisory Board.
