Feb. 23, 2021 - Proclaimed Feb. 13, 2021 as Judge Stephan P. Mickle, Sr. Day

 

Feb. 2, 2021 - direct the County Manager to return with a Resolution naming the Criminal Courthouse after the Honorable Judge Stephan Mickle and confer with the Chief Judge on the matter.

There are no funds available for any cost attributable to this change unless the Board directs the use of Reserves, which will then be brought back as budget amendment.  No cost estimates for signage or other cost such as directories, printed materials, etc. have been provided.

Background:

Chief Judge, Mark W. Moseley, on behalf of the judges of the Eighth Judicial Circuit supports the proposal to rename the Alachua County Criminal Courthouse in honor of the late Judge Stephan P. Mickle, Sr.  The Commission directed this action at your Feb. 2, 2021 meeting.
