Background:

The State Attorney Office for the 8th Judicial Circuit of Florida initiated its Intake Deflection Program in January, 2018. Since that time, the Program has achieved a significant track record in Alachua and the other five counties included in this Circuit. The leadership of the State Attorney's Office changed hands in January, 2021 with the retirement of Mr. William Cervone and the election to the position of Mr. Brian S. Kramer. For this presentation, State Attorney Kramer will identify the Program's mission, goals, operational and legal procedures, as well as the progress secured to date by this significant initiative in our community.
