Description:
The Frist Amendment to the VOCA grant agreement was fully executed by the County Manager on March 12, 2021 per Board direction and provides an additional $249,702 in grant funding when added to the previous award of $221,678, provides a total of $471,380 in grant funding for FY 21/22. These funds were not fully budgeted.

Prior Board Motions:
On 10/27/2020 the Board approved consent item #16 with the staff recommendation; Approve the (1) the Victims of Crime Act (VOCA) 2020-21 grant contract in the amount of $221,678.00, (2) the attached budget amendment and establish project budget, (3) approve an inter-fund loan in the amount of $100,000 and (4) waive the County IP policy. On March 9, 2021 the Board authorized the County Manager to execute the First Amendment to the grant agreement.

Background:
The Alachua County Board of County Commissioners Victim Services & Rape Crisis Center's Victims of Crime Act (VOCA) grant award was renewed for FY2020-21. Initially, only partial funding was awarded and the First Amendment to the VOCA contract provides additional funding. The program has been the recipient of the VOCA grant since 1986. The VOCA grant provides funding for 6.75 FTE's (Victim Advocate Counselors) to support and assist victims of violent and traumatic crime in Alachua, Bradford and Union Counties.
