Background:
ACFR has applied to renew their CoPCN for Primary and Secondary Pre-Hospital Care Provider services for another 2 years. The current certificate expires on June 4, 2021.
ACFR provides essential emergency services that is available to Alachua County citizens and visitors. All services meet the requirements per Alachua County Code Chapter 52, Florida Statute Section 401.25, and Florida Administrative Code Chapter 64J-1.
The renewal of a CoPCN must meet the standards in Alachua County Code 52.29(c):
In determining whether such certificate shall be granted, the board may consider the following:
(1) Whether existing emergency medical transportation services are adequate to meet reasonable public needs.
(2) The financial ability of the applicant to furnish continuous and uninterrupted service at the times required therefore, and to meet the financial obligations of the service which the applicant proposes to perform.
(3) The effect on existing medical transportation facilities and services of all kinds and, particularly, whether the granting of such certificate will or may seriously impair essential public service as provided by existing service operators.
(4) The qualifications of the applicant to properly perform the proposed services and to conform to the provisions of this article.
(5) Any objections received from operators who were provided notice of the application as set out herein.
