Background:

In 2002, the County initially invested $216,710 and then agreed to a 15 year term with SBA Towers for the High Springs site. In 2017, both parties extended the lease, with an annual payment for another 5 years with an end date of 2022. The FY21 lease amount was $56,380.92.

Staff negotiated a new agreement with SBA Towers for the High Springs tower site. This tower site is part of the GRUCom 800 MHz Trunk Radio System and is leased by the County. Prior to renegotiation, the County paid a fee for lease with an 8% annual increase. Staff negotiated a reduction to the lease amount and annual increase for a period of three (3) years.

The new terms go into effect once the agreement is signed by both parties
