Background:

The JAG Countywide program is administered through FDLE in accordance with Chapter 11D-9, FAC. Each County is allocated funds by FDLE. FDLE requires that the units of local government within the County reach a consensus regarding the expenditure of JAG funds. This is done in Alachua County through the Byrne Grant Advisory Board, which makes a recommendation to the Board of County Commissioners. The Byrne Grant Advisory Board meeting is scheduled to be held on April 28, 2021 and their recommendation will be the basis of the "51%" letter. FDLE announced the “FFY 20 Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant Program JAG-Countywide Solicitation” application process and allocation on April 1, 2021. The applications are due by May 28, 2021. The Certificate of Participation is due by April 30, 2021.
