Background:

The Community Service Program is a long-standing initiative developed by the County through Court Services which offers supervision for misdemeanant offenders. The Program works collaboratively with multiple agencies within the local criminal justice system, including the Court, the State Attorney’s Office, the Public Defender, and others. Through this Program, offenders at various stages in the criminal justice process are provided an alternate way of meeting Court requirements in lieu of incarceration. Community Service serves over 1,000 clients each year. This presentation provides an update about the current services and activities being offered by the Program and available to the community.  The Community Service Program consists of 7 fte’s and the FY21 budget is $575,513 as of 04/12/2021 in 001.36.3670.
