Recommended Action
Conduct public hearing and adopt the resolutions to approve the proposed FY22 millage rates for the General County and MSTU-Law Enforcement budgets, and adopt the FY22 Tentative Budget. Approve the 5 Year Debt Service and CIP budget plan.

On July 13, 2021 the Board of County Commissioners set the tentative millage for the County at 7.8662 and the tentative millage for the MSTU Law Enforcement at 3.5678.

Background:
Pursuant to Florida Statutes the County Manager delivered a balanced budget to the Board of County Commissioners on June 29, 2021.
On July 1, 2021 the Property Appraiser Certified the taxable values for the County.
On July 13, 2021 the Board of County Commissioners set the tentative millage for the County at 7.8662 and the tentative millage for the MSTU Law Enforcement at 3.5678.
On August 16, 2021 the Property Appraiser mailed the Truth in Millage (TRIM) notification as determined by Florida Statute 200.065 to all property owners informing them of the tentative millage rates and notice of the first public hearing to be held after 5:01 pm and not in conflict with the School Board of Alachua County.
Special budget meetings were held in August to review proposed budgets, departmental requests and revenues. Discussion by both the public and board was heard and adjustments made to the budget request.
