Background:

The BoCC provides CAPP funds to help alleviate poverty for Alachua County residents living at or below 150% of the Federal Poverty Level. In approving RFA 22-198, the BoCC adopted CAPP funding priorities to address Safe and Affordable Housing, Quality Childcare and Education, Reliable Transportation, Quality Healthcare, Reliable Technology, and Financial Education and Stability.  An optional voluntary pre-application meeting was held with interested vendors on 4/15/2021.  A total of 44 applications were received prior to the 5/4/2021 application due date.  The County Manager appointed 4 citizens to the CAPP Grant Review Committee to serve in an advisory capacity to the Board of County Commissioners. The Committee members received training on the use of Zoom grants and the RFA requirements on two occasions.  The Committee met on 8/3/2021 and 8/31/2021 to review, score, and discuss the applications. According to the RFA, funding recommendations will be presented to the BoCC for consideration and the BoCC decides final approval of the funding award amounts.
