Recommended Action

Conduct public hearing and adopt the resolutions to approve the final FY22 millage rates for the General County and MSTU-Law Enforcement budgets, approve FY22 Budget Amendment and adopt the FY22 Final Budget.

Prior Board Motions:

On September 14, 2021, the Alachua Board of County Commissioners adopted the proposed FY22 millage rates for the General County and MSTU-Law Enforcement budgets, and adopted the FY22 Tentative Budget.

County Millage Rate of 7.8622

MSTU Law Enforcement Millage Rate of 3.5678

General Fund budget including all revenues - $203,524,078.  The total budget is $568,936,272.

Background:

Citizens were notified of this public hearing through the Truth In Millage (TRIM) notification as determined by Florida Statute 200.065.  TRIM notices were mailed by the Alachua County Property Appraiser on August 16, 2021.  The first public hearing was held at the Board of County Commissioner’s Meeting on September 14, 2021 at 5:01 pm

 

This is the second of two required public hearings to adopt the Final General County and MSTU Law Enforcement Millage Rates and the FY22 Final Budget.  Notification was placed on the Alachua County website as well as being advertised in the Gainesville Sun as required by Florida Statute 200.065.
