Background:

The Alachua County Charter Review Commission proposed an amendment to establish the Affordable Housing Trust Fund in order to create and sustain affordable housing. Voters approved the amendment which was placed on the November 2020 General Election Ballot.

On 5/25/2021, the BoCC adopted the ordinance establishing the Alachua County Affordable Housing Trust Fund.  Community Support Services, Housing Program will administer the trust. The Affordable Housing Trust will fund the creation and sustainability of affordable housing including development and provision, expansion of housing, elimination of substandard housing, direct financial and technical assistance, eligible operating expenditures, and other uses.
