Approve the resolution and authorize the chair to sign such, and approve the journal entry for fund distribution of the new grant award amount of $36,375.00 as well as the rollover amount of $12,561.14.

Accepting the 2020-2021 EMS Trust Grant rollover will allow for an additional $12,561.14 in grant funds that will enhance EMS services. The 2021-2022 EMS Trust grant award is $36,375.00 and both revenue and expenditures are budgeted in fund 014.54. 5250.various.

If approved, the EMS Trust fund will reflect a balance of $48,936.14

Background:
The Department of Health, Bureau of Emergency Medical Services is authorized by Chapter 401, Part II, F.S., to dispense grant funds each year which are restricted and can only be spent to enhance EMS and improve or expand pre-hospital EMS systems in Alachua County. The term of the FY20/21 grant was from December 3, 2020, through December 15, 2021. A final report for the EMS Trust Fund Grant was prepared and accepted by the State. The amount of unspent funds is $12,561.14 and will be expended on the purchase of medical equipment enhancements and specialized training.

The Alachua County grant application for the 2021-2022 EMS County Grant, ID Code C0001, was awarded December 28, 2021, in the amount of $36,375.00. The purpose of this award is to also improve and expand pre-hospital services.
