Background:

Staff has reviewed many rural lodging sites from the Visit Florida website and inquired as to how these sites were regulated in their respective jurisdictions. Staff has also discussed possible amendments to Sec. 404.70 (Bed and Breakfast) that would allow for dispersed lodging sites on parcels that have a bona fide agricultural operation and the ability to increase the number of lodging sites from 5 up to 10 with a special exception approval.
