Background:

Dock construction occurs in surface waters which are protected as conservation resources by the ULDC. The rate of dock applications and the size of docks in the County have been increasing. On August 25th, 2020, citizens and staff brought concerns to the BoCC about current dock code language being vague and inadequate to limit adverse impacts to water resources. Staff is presenting draft language with new restrictions on docks, primarily by limiting dock dimensions.
