Background:
The County has been operating under the Standard Housing Code 1991 addition for minimum housing code which is out of date. The adoption of the 2021 International Property Maintenance Code (IPMC) will ensure the County is using the most up-to-date housing and property maintenance code. The IPMC is a model code regarding the use and maintenance of structures, property and building elements. The ordinance proposed would adopt the IPMC, in part with exceptions and amendments.
